Theophylact (around 1055 – after 1107) was a Byzantine archbishop of Orchid and commentator on the Bible. He was born in the mid-11th century at Euripus (Chalcis) in Euboea. He became a deacon at Constantinople, attained a high reputation as a scholar, and became the tutor of Constantine Doukas, son of the Emperor Michael VII. In about 1078 he moved to Bulgaria where he became the archbishop of Achrida (modern Ohrid). - Binding rubbed, with missing pieces on the spine with two glued-on paper bands with handwritten title and library signature, clasps and flyleaf on the front are missing. Title page with water stain, handwritten bookplate from 1712, newer stamped bookplate and signature. With water stains in the corners at the beginning and end. Complete and overall well preserved.
