Augsburg, 1729. With German and French title and text under the picture. 27,5:41 cm (11 x 16 1/4 inch. - the piture).
Depiction of the princely water hunt, a brutal, elaborate form of hunting reserved for high nobility in the age of absolutism: stags driven into the river are awaited by the hunting party in their hunting boat. In two other barges, helpers with hooked poles have gathered to retrieve the hunted stags; on land in front on the left is a group of beaters in gesticulating action, set back on the right are horsemen and two stately carriages behind six-horse carriages to transport the game away. - Price includes the frame (52,5:61 cm).
