Charles de Ferriol was a French ambassador sent by Louis XVI to the Ottoman Empire from 1692 to 1711, during the rule of Sultan Ahmend III. - Full-page, resp. folded plates, depict figures of various estates of the nations of the Ottoman Empire. - 2nd part (1721) - first edition, 1st part (1723) - second edition. - Complete. - Binding rubbed at edges and corners, spine gilding and title label faded. Spine torn about 1 cm at the top. The penultimate folded plate in folding repaired (see photo). - Old handwritten exlibris (Wenz. Hadek) on title, as well on the flyleaf in front and pasted exlibris (JUDr. L. Špaček) on the front pastedown.
