Le Grand Jeu, an avant-garde movement in Paris between 1927 and 1932, was founded by poets Roger Gilbert-Lecomte, René Daumal, Roger Vailland, André Rolland de Réneville, Pierre Minet, Hendrik Kramer and Maurice Henry with artist Josef Šíma and photographer Artur Harfaux. The artists met in the studio of Josef Šíma, the group's main artist. It was Šíma who created the logo (a spiral symbolizing infinity, life energy, movement and change since the time of ancient civilizations), which was used on the covers of the magazine, and to which he contributed, among other, French translations of Czech poetry (Jaroslav Seifert, Vítězslav Nezval) . The complete edition of Le Grand Jeu included three published volumes (1928, 1929, 1930) and the last fourth volume was ready for publication (1932). In addition to the founding artists, writers and like-minded artists such as André Delons, Pierre Audard, Roger Vitrac, André Gaillard, Monny de Bouly, Hans Arp, Man Ray and Dida de Mayo contributed to the magazine. Each issue contains essays, reviews, correspondence and authorial texts that accompany drawings and photographs. - Bound without covers. - ReD (Revue Devětsilu), a monthly magazine for modern culture; was published in 1927–1931. - Perfectly preserved, uncut.
