A series of portraits of notable men of the XVth and XVIth centuries (with a few earlier) accompanied by epigrams and laudatory verses. - Nicolaus Reusner was a German jurist and publisher. - With old handwritten owner's signature (Johann Friderich Halbmayer) on title page. - Binding clasps removed. - A leaf with portraits of Andrea del Sarto on recto and Titian on verso with an unprofessionally repaired crack. The next leaf with portraits of Michelangelo Buonarroti on recto and Bartolommeo (Baccio) Bandinelli on verso with the lower corner by the spine torn off (without the loss of the picture). The unprinted leaves with several handwritten notes from the 18th century.
