Koeman I, map 8410:1A, ed. 1:321 (1633 German). - Early and highly decorative maps of China, Japan, and Korea (first published by Jodocus Hondius, 1606). - China and Japan are somewhat distorted. Korea is depicted as an island. The Great Wall of China is shown in northern China, and on the left is an illustration of a Chinese land sailing ship. At the top right (between Asia and America) is the mythical Strait of Anian and part of the northwestern coast of America (inhabited by a deer and a a fox). There are two ships in the Pacific Ocean, one similar to a Chinese junk. The decorative cartouche contains a description and illustration of the ritual Japanese crucifixion of a Christian. - Price includes the frame (56:67 cm).
