Orlik, Emil (1870-1932). "Arthur Nikisch". Orig. eching and drypoint, ca. 1910. Signed and described in pencil under the desk. 23,6:17,9 cm (9 1/4 x 7 inch. - printed on laid paper with a watermark sized 39,5:29 cm). Portrait of Arthur Nikisch, a Hungarian conductor who performed internationally, holding posts in Boston, London, Leipzig and—most importantly—Berlin. He was considered an outstanding interpreter of the music of Bruckner, Tchaikovsky, Beethoven and Liszt.
