Rare Geneva edition of Gravesande's defining work. Its numerous plates are desgined to show Newton's ideas in action, and include several very detailed illustrations of experimental layouts. - Willem Jacob 's Gravesande (1688-1742) was a Dutch philosopher and mathematician.
