George Bate (1608, Maids Moreton, Buckinghamshire - 1669, London) was an English physician. He studied at Oxford, where he received his doctorate of medicine in 1637. Originally a Puritan, he became a Royalist at Oxford and was appointed physician to King Charles I. In 1640 Bate was elected a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians. He settled in London. During the interregnum (30 January 1649-29 May 1660) he was Cromwell's physician from 1653. After the re-establishment of the monarchy he again became royalist and physician to King Charles II.
