"Varsovia". Orig. copper-engraving after from the 6th part of Latin ed. of Braun and Hogenberg's "Civitates Orbis Terrarum". Published 1618. With title-cartouche, a cartouche with depiction of "Miles Polonus" (Polish soldier) and "Nobiles Poloniae" (Polish nobles), 3 coats of arms and many ships on the Vistula river in the foreground. 31,5:47,5 cm (12 1/2 x 18 3/4 inch.).

Koeman IV, map 4780, ed. 41:1 (1617/18 B&H 6). - A view of Warsaw over the Vistula river. - This view comes from the sixth and last volume of Civitates Orbis Terrarum ("Theatri Praecipuarum Totius Mundi Urbivm Liber Sextus"), published in a much smaller edition than previous volumes, and it is therefore rarer than most of Braun & Hogenberg city views.
