With decorative border with 12 windheads, figures of Ham, Shem and Japhet in the corners and 7 mythological creatures to the left of the map. 38:51,5 cm (15 x 20 1/4 inch.).

Shirley: The Mapping of the World, map 19. - Whole doublepage, with a Ptolemaic world map, from H. Schedel's Das Buch der Chroniken und Geschichten (German edition of Liber Chronicarum). - The title at the top almost entirely cut off, upper left corner torn (ca. 1,5:4,5 cm affecting the picture) and professionally restored and retouched, as well as some minor cracks in the centerfold.
