Detailed map of the strait of the Dardanelles between Aegean and Marmara Sea. - Francois Joseph Maire (1738 - ca. 1800) was a publisher, geographer and engineer active in Vienna. He published some maps in relation to the Russian-Austrian-Turkish war of 1787-91. - With traces of the original foldings.
