An original antique double-hemispherical world map - showing California as an island & an early representation of Antarctica - was published by A. P. de la Croix in his 1705 edition of Algemeene Weereld-Beschryving, nae de Rechte Verdeeling der Landschappen. An uncommon map showing the coastline of Australia beginning to take shape as Nova Hollandia, and New Guinea is shown with an attachment to a large, amorphous landmass. Antarctica is named, and a large Ter. de Iesso is named off of the northwest coast of North America.
