Shirley 406: "Nicolaas Visscher's new world map in two hemispheres can be regerded as the master forerunner of a number of highly decorative Dutch world maps produced throughout the remainder of the century". - Some cracks around the centerfold, in margins, some of them affecting the picture, and some in oxidated green colour in the map, all expertly restored. Map is underlaid with Japan paper.
