Pierre Duval (1619 in Abbeville - 1683 in Paris) was a French geographer and publisher. He studied in Paris under his uncle, the famous geographer and cartographer Nicolas Sanson. He was soon employed by the map printer and publisher Pierre Mariette. In 1650 he became a royal geographer (Geographe Ordinaire du Roy) at the court of Louis XIV. He maintained a partnership with Mariette until 1654, when he began publishing his own atlases and maps.
