Kola (Peninsula) - Russia. "Lappiae Pars. Cola". Orig. copper-engraving from the German edition of A. Ortelius' Epitome, published in Frankfurt am Main by L. Hulsius (Hulst), 1604. With title in desk, ornamental cartouche with 3 figures, another 2 figures in the map, several ships, Kildin island and depiction of a town (Kola). 11:14 cm (4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inch.).

Koeman III, map 1340:333, ed. 333:41 (1604 Außzug). - A decorative miniature map of the northern part of Russian Kola peninsula in the far northwest of Russia. Constituting the bulk of the territory of Murmansk Oblast, it lies almost completely to the north of the Arctic Circle and is washed by the Barents Sea in the north and the White Sea in the east and southeast. - Lower margin cutted close to the desk, in the lower left corner ca. 1 mm affecting the picture.
